In 2007, Partners for Active Living teamed up with the statewide Palmetto Cycling Coalition to offer South Carolina's first League Cycling Instructor (LCI) certification seminars.
LCI is a nationally recognized certification provided through the League of American Bicyclists. Once certified, instructors are trained in the technical skills of properly teaching others how to safely ride on the road, maintain their bike, interact with traffic, and more.
Now, with four LCIs in Spartanburg County, Partners for Active Living and its volunteers work to offer a variety of bike safety education courses.
