As a result of the Safe Routes to School workshop, led by Partners for Active Living, Pine Street Elementary School received multiple improvements to the roads and sidewalks leading to it.
BOYD STREET BEFORE:
Misdirected, barely visible, with no pedestrian crossing
BOYD STREET AFTER:
Re-aligned with ladder-striping for increased visibility, curb ramps for accessibility, and bright pedestrian crossing signs
PINE STREET CROSSING SIGNAL BEFORE:
Positioned too high for children to reach
PINE STREET CROSSING SIGNAL AFTER:
The crossing signal button was lowered.
