As an East Tennessee native, Laura Ringo started her nonprofit career in fundraising and special events at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital. Laura moved to Spartanburg in August 2005 after marrying her husband Will, who works for Milliken. It has not taken long for the Upstate to feel like home for her, as she attended Furman University in Greenville for four years. Laura graduated in 2002 with a degree in history, emphasizing in Latin American studies.

A native of Spartanburg, Jean Crow returned to her hometown in 2005. During the two years prior, she lived in Austin, Texas and served as program manager for the Austin Parks Foundation, a nonprofit organization supporting the City's park and trail system. Noting the great things happening in Austin, Jean wanted to be a part of bringing positive changes to Spartanburg. Before joining Partners for Active Living, she led active-living and outdoor recreation programs for the Palmetto Conservation Foundation. Jean graduated from Furman University in 2002 with a degree in religion and history, and concentration in classical studies.

Born and raised in a small Wisconsin town, Amanda moved to Spartanburg in July 2008 to serve as an AmeriCorps*VISTA member for PAL. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in May 2008 with a Bachelors in Sociology and a minor in Business Administration. Amanda has found that Spartanburg is a warm and welcoming community and looks forward to her experiences with PAL!
