Partners for Active Living has these ongoing volunteer opportunities:
The Criterium – Do you have lots of energy and enthusiasm but limited time to volunteer? Do you love big events? Consider volunteering for the Crit! These are mostly a “day of” opportunities in April each year – and it’s a long day! Setting up, breaking down, hosting sponsor tents, working the kid’s ride – there’s a lot to do in a fun atmosphere with plenty of support.
The Turkey Day 8K – Are you a morning person? Do you stay in town on Thanksgiving? You may want to think about volunteering for this super fun event. It’s a free 8K run/walk through downtown early on Thanksgiving morning that has become legendary.
Spartanburg BCycle – Do you love bikes and/or have bicycle mechanic skills? Are you a BCycle member who loves the convenience of bike share and wants to give back a little? Do you have a couple hours a month to check BCycle bikes for maintenance needs and report to our administrator? Let us know! The BCycle system requires a lot of care to keep things in top shape and we can use some additional dedicated volunteers to help us out.
On The Trail – Do you love our trails and working outdoors? Throughout the year, PAL sponsors trail clean up days in and around the city.
Around the House – Are you handy, indoors or out? Our office is in a beautiful historic house. From time to time, we could use help with yard work, painting and other light maintenance tasks.
None of these opportunities quite fit? We have many partners who depend on volunteers to serve our community. If you are not sure how to find them, send us your information as detailed below and we will try to point you in the right direction.
Let us know about you: Send the following information to firstname.lastname@example.org: Name, address, phone number, email address, which volunteer opportunity you are interested in, and the hours and days you are available. Also tell us about your interests and skills. We will get back to you shortly.
Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering with PAL!
